L&D is broken for how people actually work.

Traditional training can't keep pace with fast-moving workplaces. Employees need relevant, bite-sized learning that fits into their day, not hour-long courses that feel like homework. Quotien was Edacy's answer to that.

Two users. One product. Both had to feel intelligent.

Subject matter experts needed to create courses quickly. Employees needed to learn in the flow of work. Both experiences had to feel genuinely AI-powered, not like a traditional LMS with an AI badge slapped on it.

Wireframes first. Assumptions tested early.

Low-fidelity wireframes went in front of users before any high-fi work began. The onboarding flow for course creators was the first thing we tested.

Quotien wireframe explorations

Users expected AI to feel like AI.

Three recurring themes came back from testing. The onboarding felt too rigid. Users wanted something more interactive. And when they thought of AI, they thought of natural language — something that responds to how you speak, not a form you fill in.

"The user experience feels a bit rigid. It's not so different from a traditional onboarding."
"I was hoping for a more interactive experience during the onboarding process."
"AI to me means tools like ChatGPT, something that responds to natural language inputs."

From forms to conversation.

The biggest shift was replacing form-based course creation with a conversational input. Creators describe what they want and the AI generates from that.

The learner experience.

Designed for mobile. Short, modular lessons with an AI assistant embedded in each section for contextual Q&A. Individual modules (Lesson, Concept, Question) each had a distinct treatment, with AI feedback on answers as a deliberate trust signal.

Users come to AI products with expectations already formed. Design to meet them, not retrain them.

Designing an AI product for the first time taught me that users come in with expectations shaped by ChatGPT and Siri. The moment we shifted from forms to conversation, the onboarding stopped feeling like every other SaaS tool. That was the lesson. Quotien is live at quotien.ai.
